Becoming a Member

The Civil Air Patrol is a US Air Force Auxiliary. We provide myriad emergency services and operational missions such as: Search and Rescue, Disaster Relief, Humanitarian Services, Air Force Support and Counter Drug operations.    

Currently the Long Island Group has seven squadrons on Long Island. We are actively looking to recruit new members.

The Civil Air Patrol has both cadet and adult programs. The three (3) primary areas are emergency services, cadet programs, and aerospace education. With training, members participate in search and rescue missions, assist in disaster relief, and help with community service projects. Cadet members can learn to fly and senior members who hold a pilots license have the opportunity to fly CAP aircraft.
